BOGOR – Lembaga Dakwah Kampus Iqtishod of Tazkia University hold the Islamic Festival Tazkia. One of the ceremony is a talk show with Habiburrahman El-Shirary, author of the bestselling novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta (12/03/2016).
Talk show opened with a verse lyrics of the song When Love is sung by a moderator, Usaid Rahman. Seconds later, Habiburrahman or commonly called kang Abik summoned to the stage accompanied by a standing ovation by attendees.
Kang Abik tall how he first became a writer so well known as it is now. He says that his journey as a writer is not as easy as most people imagine.
"That ability does not come with its own special intentions. There is a process that I go through. Reporters once had me wrong about me, they pass over the news when I launched the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta directly Booming. I am angry. As if I had never written before," said the man who ever ‘nyantri’ and study yellow book in Al-Anwar Islamic College.
Kang Abik said that he has been writing since Madrasah Aliyah. Kang Abik even liked literature from SD.
"When the elementary school, I ever participated in poetry, because at that time I was class president, and I was the loudest noise in the classroom. I was lucky winners. I still remember, I read a poem entitled Pangeran Diponegoro bouquet of Anwar," he said.
"I think it was the memory of his proudest accomplishments. That's the first time my existence. Appreciation is important. no matter how small the achievement, will be a ladder for further achievements," he explains.
Asked about his novel is always the theme of love, Kang Abik said that love is a history that never cracked with age. Love is a basic human need. just look at human history, there is always a love story. The need for love just as we would not be alive without eating and drinking.
In addition to telling about his journey as a writer, kang Abik also shared his tips in writing. He says, authors who succeed are those who successfully spawned memorable work in the hearts of his readers. For new writers, to produce phenomenal work, there must be ghiroh strong writing, completing the process of writing through to completion. Finish your work first, then other works will follow.
The most important in writing the paper, continued kang Abik. Authors must have idea. How to develop an idea, anywhere have to carrying a note. Frequent often think.
"In the process of thinking enter the imagination. Often to ask, if so how, if that's how. And try to find answers to every question that arises," said Kang Abik when sharing writing tips.
Kang Abik convey, disposed writing all the ideas that arise. A prolific writer should have an idea bank. Discipline and often read the works of quality.
"The job of a writer is to soften the hardened heart. Great poets are poets who are able to soften the hearts of readers," he concluded.
